Animals have always been part of our family.
Dogs, cats, fish, lizards, mice and yes, insects, have all been at the center our lives since we were kids. (And do we have stories!) It is a wonderful case of serendipity and opportunity that we are now the proud owners of Brooklyn Pet Supply.
Many of you know us as third generation residents and business owners in Bay Ridge. We have worked with many community groups and spearheaded grassroots volunteer projects for the love of this unique part of Brooklyn. We’ve been on executive committees at the New York Aquarium for decades, worked with top dog trainers and handlers at the AKC, and Therapy Training schools.
When Petland Discounts went out of business, it was YOU ... the pet parents of the community who persuaded us that Bay Ridge needed a REAL pet store. A store that not only sells fish and small animals, a full range of food, supplies and entertainment ... but a store that provides education and expertise to keep pets healthy and happy.
It was a natural move out of retirement back into the original location from which our family ran a hardware store (Fishman Supply) from 1921 to 1984. And, it was a natural move because of our love of pets to open a place where our neighbors stop in with their fur babies - or scaled babies - to chat, find out about the latest new products or just gossip.
Brooklyn Pet Supply is a place of joy, and our employees are among the most caring and knowledgeable in the pet world. And our customers are among the most fascinating people in NYC. That combination creates a positive energy and memorable experience every time you visit.
